Happy July Everyone!
We are back and better than ever today with a new style series I want to do just in time for summer! So sit back and get ready to pack your beach bag because today we’re talking swim suits! Let me know in the comments below what you’d like to see next! Beachwear? Going Out? Casual? Summer shoes? The possibilities are endless and so are the swim suits I picked out for today’s post so let’s jump right on into it!
Get Yo ‘Kini On!
Up first I want to feature some of my favorite two pieces! You’ll probably notice a theme.. I’m REALLY into high waisted bottoms, I just can’t help myself. I’ve been obsessed with that trend for the past like 4 years. *insert cringey picture of me wearing the same American Apparel high waisted shorts every day circa 2015*
That being said, if high waisted isn’t your thing (even though it’s super flattering.. just saying), these swimsuits are still worth checking out and maybe getting some inspo from! I know it’s already July and it’s certainly not too late to snag the perfect swimsuit for your next beach trip!
1. Triangl – Famous Moody Skies
This is a black velvet two piece. A true stunner right? The bottoms come in two options, regular or cheeky, so you can choose what works best for you! I think this bikini is so sleek, modern but still retro, and so on trend for this summer.
A simple, but unique piece that I’m totally OBSESSED with to be totally honest (:
Fun Fact: I fell in love with Triangl bikinis years ago. They’re an Australian brand and made their swim suits with neoprene.. my all time favorite fabric.. I’m not totally sure why.
2. Triangl – Pacha Scarlet Red
This is another stunner. I love the simplicity of it and how flattering the cut of the swim suit really is. I love that the top is a cut that goes straight across and the bottoms have a high rise and will sit on the hips perfectly. Also, who doesn’t feel like a boss babe in red? It’s perfect!
3. Onia x WeWoreWhat
Onia x WeWoreWhat – Top, Onia x WeWoreWhat – Bottom
I love a good collaboration and that is exactly what this is. Of course this set comes in a variety of colors but I really think the orange stripes are my favorite of all favorites.
I love that the high rise cut and high waist of the bottoms work together to create something a little conservative but totally not at the same time and then are brought together in perfect harmony with a cute belt (something I’m normally not into because I think it can make your suit look a little cheap, but here it works)!
I also surprisingly love that the top is more structured. Normally an underwire is something I would protest about under every circumstance but I like that in this case it makes this swimsuit stand out to me against all of the others that I’m digging.
4. Lazy Oaf – Frilly Black Daisy
For those of you that know me, you might know that I adore this brand. They’re based in London and I think that the pieces they come out with are always so quirky, trendy, and wonderful and I couldn’t not include something from their swimwear, because of course they knocked that out of the park as well (:
For my Americans, this is a brand you can get from ASOS or Dolls Kill so always keep your eye out for sales etc.
I love that this is a girly little number. I think the pattern adds something fun while the black fabric of the background keeps the two piece from turning totally juvenile. Frankly, it’s adorable.. how could you resist?
5. Albionfit – Breezy Stripe
Breezy Stripe – Top, Breezy Stripe – Bottom
Isn’t this just to die for? I love the combination of high waisted bottoms (we know Britani, you’ve already mentioned this like 10 times) and asymmetric top. I think the one shoulder strap makes this so unique!
It’s cute and simplistic but still something I can picture lots of girls strolling down the beach in with confidence. Not to mention the fit and quality is just amaze x 1000!
6. Albionfit – Black Check
Black Check – Top, Black Check – Bottom
Yes, another number from Albion but can you blame me? They’re just so good! Although this has a similar vibe to the previous one, I really enjoy the pattern of this one. Even though it’s called ‘Black Check’ I’ll be forever thinking of it as gingham and I can’t picture anything more perfect to arrive in for a pool party with family or friends.
The top has the perfect amount of coverage and I really like the tied detailing on the front. All in all another win-win for me! (:
One Piece Wonders
Okay so there’s nothing better than the classic Baywatch one piece, right? Well since I think that a sleek, red one piece is no longer the world’s best kept secret, I figured I’d spice it up a little bit with these options next! (:
1. Topshop – Straight Ribbed One Piece
This color though, right? I’m obsessed.
Normally, I’m not crazy about a ribbed fabric. It gives me weird wife-beater/tank top vibes and I’m not really about that on the daily, but I’d be lying if I said the trend hasn’t started to grow on me just a little.. and that’s where this one piece fits into my life perfectly.
Again, I love that the cut at the top goes straight across and could see this honestly doubling as the cutest bodysuit under a pair of shorts as well. Overall just super flattering and fun for those sunny days!
2. ASOS – Mixed Mono Polka Dot
To me this is kind of like a 2-for-1 hybrid and I totally love it. I love that you get the gist of a one piece with a little cut out that low-key settles it a two piece. Despite this really bringing back the 80’s, it is a true show stopper. I also love that although you’re opting for a quirky, unique, crazy print, the monochrome brings it right back to Earth. It’s fun but most importantly.. WEARABLE!
Mix n’ Match Mania
So because everything I’ve shown y’all thus far seemed to come in a set, I thought it would be fun to show how I would choose to mix and match tops and bottoms across the interwebs!
L Space – Top, J Crew – Bottom
When I saw this lemon print, it immediately made me feel so happy. It’s kind of a busy print and not something I would want to wear on both the top AND bottom so pairing it with a cute solid is the perfect way to complete the look. I love that together these pieces create a ‘girl next door’ vibe but still manage to be trendy and mega cute all at the same time!
I know y’all don’t need me to point out how adorable the combo of high waisted bottoms and a tie/cut out top are but I feel obligated to anyways.. really, they are best pair! (:
Summary
Although all of these pieces are partial to my personal preference there’s a wide range of variety here and I hope there’s something that can be found for everyone!
Let me know what you think about these picks! Was there anything you really liked? Hated? Give me some of your summer suggestions down below! And..
Until next time,
