Fall Bucket List

Fall Bucket List

Happy Thursday Everyone!

Yes, we are practically an entire month into the Fall season, but is there ever a time that is too late for a bucket list? I think not! So I compiled a quick list of all of my favorite (and necessary) fall activities that I plan on checking off this year! Enjoy!

1. Drink ONE Pumpkin Spice Latte

Yes. You read that correctly, just ONE. I hate those things but isn’t it a right of passage to sip on one while frolicking through the fallen leaves sporting a flannel? I feel like the answer to that is definitely yes. And while I’m at it, I’ll just ingest everything else that is pumpkin spice flavored too.. ’tis the season, right?

2. Go Trick or Treating

Halloween is right around the corner you guys and your girl loves her candy! Also, why not use Trick or Treating as the perfect excuse to wear your Halloween costume one more time! This is something I know I won’t be able to do forever (honestly, I probably shouldn’t even be doing it now) and I take full advantage of a crisp night with friends almost every year!

3. Watch the newest season of Stranger Things

And watch it in record breaking time at that! I canNOT wait for the new season to drop on Netflix and you better bet your bottom dollar that I will 100% be anticipating it’s release! I love that show, who doesn’t? The boys are hilarious and the storyline is so captivating that you just can’t resist!

4. Pick and carve a pumpkin!

This is something I just love doing every single year! Nothing beats going to a pumpkin patch and debating for like 30 minutes what pumpkin is the very best even though there’s like 0.0003% difference. There is just something about it that awakens my inner child and it’s such a fun thing to do to get your mind off of the stresses of school, etc.

Last year, I tried (and failed) to carve Kanye West into a pumpkin and this year, I’m going to have to try and top that. I’m thinking maybe something Broadway this year? Yeah, I’m looking at you Hamilton (:

5. Get lost in a Corn Maze

This is not something I would normally endorse. I HATE corn mazes. Like, why would you WILLINGLY go into a maze KNOWING you are going to get lost?? I don’t get it. But my college is doing a trip to a local corn maze and I figure, why the heck not?! Really, I just know that they sell things like apple cider and that is persuasion enough to drag me along (:

6. Wear my most favorite fall sweater

This might be easier said than done, I mean, how am I supposed to play favorites with my sweaters? I love them all! But I’ll figure it out, and when I do? You can find me cozied up on a couch with a warm mug of hot chocolate, a book, and a Harry Potter marathon playing in the background.

7. Become the World’s Best Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookie Baker

Ugh, these are sweet victory in the Fall months. And I guess I’ll settle for this position since my mom definitely took over as World’s Best Apple Pie Baker (: Whatever the reason, these stay super soft and moist, and are a wonderful snack or dessert. They aren’t overwhelmingly pumpkin-y, and the chocolate chips are the perfect addition to make them 100% necessary not just this, but EVERY Fall!

8. Sit around a fire and toast some S’mores!!!

Those three exclamation points are necessary because ya girl, LOOOOOVES a good s’mores! I also love to sit around a warm fire on a cool night with a blanket draped over my legs sharing stories with friends. So of course having s’mores is just a total bonus jonas! Plus there is nothing greater than those gigantic marshmallows, and this is the perfect excuse I needed to be able to go out and get practically a million packages.. that’s normal, right?

9. Go Black Friday Shopping in NYC

This is something that my mom and I started to do last year and it was a total game-changer for me. We stumbled into Saks 5th Ave because I wanted to admire the window displays and ended up finding a super sale! So now, we plan on going back every year to see all that they have going on. I got my very first pair of Rag & Bone jeans from this sale and I can’t wait to see what I can snag again!

10. Feel thankful.

Before we know it it’ll be Thanksgiving and what better time of the year to just take a moment for yourself and feel thankful for all that you have. I know for sure that amidst all of the stress of schoolwork, I’ll be taking moments to just breathe and remember how much I’ve been blessed with.

And I think that that concludes this year’s Fall Bucket List. It’s a mildly short one, but at least an achievable one (and your girl needs achievable with school in high gear)! It’s also a reminder to make the most of every single season and to take some time for yourself as well. Self love is the best love.

What are some of your bucket list activities this Fall season? And have you already checked some of them off?

I hope you enjoyed this quick little post, and..

Until next time,

My Top 5 Fall Lippies

My Top 5 Fall Lippies

Happy Friday Everyone!

Today on the blog is a ‘Fall-inspired’ post!

Let me just put it out there, I looooove Fall! I like when the leaves change colors, the sweaters come out, and the air gets crisp. And I love all of the fall activities too, I mean, count me in for pumpkin picking any day of the week!

So of course I thought maybe I could combine my excitement for the new season with another one of my favorite things (no matter WHAT the season).. Lipstick! I’m especially crazy about Fall shades, the darker colors have always been my favorite and although I’m pretty pale, I think they make for a really vampy look that is so perfect for this time of the year!

And so I combined a list of my top lip colors for the Fall! Some of them stand alone and some are best in a little lip liner, lipstick combo! I hope you enjoy!

1. Nars Audacious Lipstick in Ingrid

Up first is an OG favorite. I’m telling you, I’ve been obsessed with this color for at least the past four years. It’s the most perfect vampy, purple-y/red shade and it’s one of the few ‘normal’ lipsticks I’ll ever wear (that means NOT a matte, liquid lip).

It’s so smooth and creamy and honestly just really easy to apply, which for me is a super plus because without a lip liner, I’m usually helpless! It’s also a color that really works for a lot of skin tones, which I think is really important! Although it definitely IS on the pricey side, I think you get a lot of bang for your buck and mine has lasted me for quite some time so overall, I really think it is worth it to have this in your collection if you are a lipstick addict like me!

2. Glossier Generation G in Jam and Mac Cosmestics’ Lip Pencil in Burgundy

Ugh, this combo is literally to DIE for if you are looking for the most natural but still really pigmented berry lip. I actually stole this combo from 50 Shades Darker, Anastasia wore it a LOT in the movie and I just remember while watching thinking ‘I have to have it’!

This combo together starts out very comfortable (and is definitely long-lasting) but once the glossier lippie dries down, it is a very matte look. It’s still comfortable (and the look is amazing), but it might be something to consider if you find you aren’t really a ‘matte-lover’ like myself.

Of course you could always just keep applying ‘Jam’ and that would keep your lips moisturized as well, but sometimes remembering to do that is a little bit of a hassle. Either way, these two have been such a game-changer for me, and even in the summer I found myself always reaching for these two as a go-to. Just so amazing.

3. Jeffree Star Cosmetics Velour Liquid Lipstick in Family Jewels

Okay, so you guys might want to run to get your hands on this one as it is actually part of his Summer collection (so I don’t know how much longer it will be available), but this is the most wonderful cool toned, dusty brown.

I also looooove the formula of Jeffree’s liquid lips, so this stays put and is SUPER light-weight.. like maybe even one of the most light-weight liquid lips I own.. and that’s pretty many.

It’s so pigmented, and you can pretty much completely cover your lips in one dunk from the product, which I think is amazing. Plus, the applicator that he uses is so unique and easy that you won’t even need to worry about lining your lips!

I think this is a great color for the fall months, and although it’s a brown, it’s super neutral and wearable incase ‘in-your-face’ sort of colors just aren’t your thing! It’s a show-stopper for sure and I would DEFINITELY recommend!

Family Jewels

4. Kylie Cosmetics Matte Liquid Lipstick in Gorg

I had to, I just love the Kardashians so stinking much. AND Kylie has pretty bomb lipstick shades as well as an amazing formula (yeah, it’s a little dry but name me a liquid lip that stays longer.. I’ll wait)!

So when thinking about what shade was my favorite for fall (there are so many to pick from), Gorg immediately popped into my mind. It is a super-pigmented, NOT streaky, deep red. I actually think the website describes it as a wine color and they’re not wrong!

Normally with this one I will line my lips with another red liner from her line, maybe Boujee or even Vixen (since this is a separate from the OG KoKo Collection), and this just glides on and stays all stinking day long perfectly.

I’ve searched years for the perfect dark red, and this is truly a keeper! 10/10 WOULD recommend (:

5. ColourPop Lippie Stix and Lippie Pencil in Grunge

Ugh, this one is too good to be true as well! It is one of the very first browns that I was ever adventurous enough to own and it’s a great one to start off with! It’s a red-toned brown that truly is the epitome of it’s name.. Grunge.

It is full-coverage and dries down matte although it comes in a lipstick tube. It is so fun to pair with ripped jeans and a throwback flannel top or even a band tee and a leather jacket. It’s just one of those colors that really completes a look! AND it’s always a bonus when a brand makes an identical lip liner (which obviously ColourPop is super amazing at)!

Really it is a shade unlike any other in my collection and one I am so happy to have, especially in those Fall months! Plus at ColourPop prices (serious FIVE dollars) how the heck could you pass it up! (:

**Disclaimer** I totally know that this shade looks superrrrr similar to Jeffree’s mentioned above (and in a way they COULD be dupes for one another); however, this color is a lot more red on the lips than Family Jewels (which is more brown). Just wanted to throw that out there. And although they are similar to me, I think that they are still worthwhile to both have as formulas are totally different and they’re pretty awesome, staple shades for Fall!

Grunge Lippie Stix

Grunge Lippie Pencil

And that concludes my Top 5 Fall Lippies post! Lipstick is something that brings so much happiness into my life, and makes me feel really empowered every time I wear it (the bolder the shade, the better)! I hope you guys got to see some shades you didn’t already know about and are inspired to rock these deep, dark, and brown colors all Fall long (not to mention the reds can totally transition right into Winter)! But..

Until next time,

Treasure & Bond x Something Navy: Review and OOTD

Treasure & Bond x Something Navy: Review and OOTD

Happy Monday Everyone!

This week I have for you a special ‘Outfit of the Day’ type post fused with a review!

For those of you who might not know, Something Navy (AKA Arielle), has been my favorite (and first) fashion blogger for the past 5 or so years. I stumbled on her instagram page when I was in an 11th grade psychology class, and I’ve been hooked ever since. So if there is anyone reading this right now, I would 10/10 recommend checking her out as she has such great personal style, a kind heart, and a totally cute kid (seriously, the daily dose of Ruby is much appreciated)!

But anyways, Arielle recently collaborated with Nordstrom and Treasure & Bond and released an entire line of clothing! Not only are the clothes REALLY cute, but they’re also really affordable as well, which of course my wallet always appreciates.

Leading up to the release, Arielle had been dropping little sneak peeks and I knew there were a few items that I just had to have. Unfortunately, I was unable to get my hands on the orange sweater, but considering that I was able to track down everything else, I would consider it a win-win.

And yes, you read that right. I literally had to TRACK DOWN most of these items. There was a technical issue on Nordstrom’s end the day of the release, and by the time I realized the items were online, like 98% of them were sold out. So naturally, I called practically every Nordstrom on the west coast that I could find until I found one with the item and size that I needed. This was probably like a two hour affair at least, so that’s what I would like to call dedication (:

So anyways, I wanted to show off the items that I managed to snag! The first one was the ‘Wrap Cardigan’. This is something I knew I needed in my life. She posted a picture of her wearing it the night before the released and I about had a heart attack. It’s so cute and unique, and I truly fell in love at first sight.

I love that it has a deep V neckline, and that the fabric is so soft and that this piece will really easily transition into fall and winter months! My only regret is that I didn’t have the belt that Arielle wore when styling this cardigan, because that combo was amazing together.

If you can’t tell, I really loved this cardigan. The only thing that I will warn is that if you can still get your hands on it, SIZE DOWN! This is something I didn’t realize to do, and the XS ended up being a little big so I had to go with the XXS (yeah, I don’t think I’ve ever been that size).

Pairing this with a black pair of skinny jeans and a pair of simple heels really made me feel like I was on top of the world. Love, love, LOVE this outfit (:

Next up is a kind of 2-in-1 deal. First on the list is the ‘Ruffle Cuff Tunic’ in the blue color. I didn’t realize when buying this that ‘tunic’ was in the name, so when I saw it in person I was kind of surprised at how long it was, but now.. it totally makes sense.

This is just another super unique piece. I LOVE simple button downs and the fact that this one just had something a little extra going on with the sleeves, made me gravitate to it even more. I mean the detailing is so subtle and delicate that it’s hard NOT to want to buy like 30 of these.

Here, I tried to tuck it in and for the most part it worked, but like I said earlier, SIZE DOWN!! I have an XS in this, and I definitely think that the XXS would have again been a better fit. Unless of course you’re into the oversized look, then go with your normal sizing (:

And finally, the last piece I got are the ‘Kaine Strappy Mule’ in the silver faux leather. Honestly? I think these are my favorite. I don’t have a single pair of shoes like this, and I love that they are giving me edgy but also sophisticated at the same time.

Like in a weird way, I can totally picture Harry Styles coming out in a pair of these (actually, maybe if they were boots it’d be more likely.. but you catch my drift).

I wear so much black that I know these will spice up my wardrobe and probably be a total conversation started. Not to mention, that they are actually super comfortable and fit like a glove. For these? DON’T size down, they fit perfect (:

As for the rest of the collection? I loved it all. If I was a millionaire I would have every single piece but I just wanted to showcase some of it and really tell all y’all just how great the collection truly is. If you can still get any piece, I would encourage it as they’re all timeless, effortless, and super stylish.

The handwork that Arielle put into the collection really paid off and I couldn’t be more proud! Either way, I hope you all enjoyed this short little review/OOTD and got some fall inspiration for your wardrobe! But..

Until next time,

Harry Styles Live on Tour: Tower Theater

Harry Styles Live on Tour: Tower Theater

Happy Monday Everyone!

Yes, that’s right, a totally new posting schedule is underway this month of October! I plan on posting not once, but TWICE, a week now! And for those interested, that’ll be on Mondays and Thursdays (:

But that isn’t the point of this post, so let’s get down to the nitty gritty. Harry. Styles.

I was fortunate enough to be able to see him perform at the Tower Theater in Upper Darby, PA this past Thursday. It was an intimate venue (in comparison to the arenas and stadiums One Direction has played) that held about 3,000 lucky fans.

Most of the theater was listed as general admission, so I knew we had to get there early. Needless to say, ‘early’ still wasn’t early enough. My mom and I arrived to the theater around 1:30-2ish and girls had been lined up since 8am. Really I have zero complaints because we were still within the first few hundred to get there, but not going to lie.. I totally had a moment of panic driving my the theater and seeing a line wrapped entirely around the building.

So then started our five hour wait. They didn’t let you into the theater until 7pm (the opening act started at 8), and honestly that was still plenty of time. I feel like they had this entire event running like a smooth oiled machine. They let you shop the merch mega early and had wrist bands and stamps distributed well before the doors even officially opened. That way, everyone could easily go through security and be on their way to stand their ground on the floor.

Of course there are always going to be the pushy people who squeeze their way right in front of you, but really there was nothing that could ruin my mood for the night. I’m literally maybe 30 feet from where H will be standing, it doesn’t get much better than that.

The opening act started super promptly at 8, and it was such a treat. The band that opened for H was MUNA, and I loved every minute they were on stage. I believe they mentioned being a smaller LA band, and truly the vibe and sound that they brought to the night was amazing. Their sound is indie and really up my street, plus the energy of the crowd really help feed their performance and I could tell they were enjoying themselves just as much as all of us (which was totally awesome, btw)!

The best part about the opening (minus the lead singer’s AH-MAZING hair cut), was that I actually had heard a song by them and never even knew it. As soon as they started to play it I had a total realization and I think that helped me connect even more with the music.

They played for about a half and hour and within the next 35-ish minutes, H was on stage in front of us. In the flesh. I can’t believe I’m typing that. Like, I saw the concert and I sometimes still have moments where I can’t believe I was blessed enough to have been there.

But of course before he graced us all with his presence, they let down the infamous sheet and the anticipation I felt knowing I would be seeing H’s silhouette behind it in T-minus like 30 minutes was a little intense. I feel like I really loved and appreciated the little details he put into this tour from the pink/flowery sheet to every single piece of merch. I felt like he really got to have a say in what he wanted, and as a long time fan, I couldn’t have been happier or prouder.

**Also, speaking of merch, it might even top Kanye. He brought out a pink sweatshirt with super simple embroidery and his entire slogan for the merch, as well as the tour, is to ‘Treat People with Kindness’. That’s a message we all need to hear more often. And it for some reason resonates with me when I hear famous people who literally have the world at their finger tips saying stuff like that. It’s a reminder that no one is ever too big, and a humbling one at that**

So anyways, fast forward to show time. The final song plays and the theater is completely quiet because everyone is internally thinking “oh shiz, it’s about to happen, the guitar is going to strum and in front of my eyes will be a perfectly silhouetted ex-boyband member” and then all of a sudden dreams become reality and the next few seconds happen in a whirlwind.

He begins the show with ‘Ever Since New York’ and I think that is a pretty solid choice. In fact for all of those interested, the set list for our night and a comprehensive list of my thoughts are all listed below:

1. Ever Since New York

A solid start (as mentioned above). You see him for the first time, get to take in his outfit for the night, and behold him holding (and playing) a guitar all at a leisurely (but still somehow chaotic) pace. It’s the perfect song to ease into the night and let the moment really sink in.

2. Two Ghosts
3. Carolina

You all know this is a bop. I don’t even really have much to say other than I loved it.

4. Stockholm Syndrome
5. Sweet Creature

The purple lighting that surrounded him on one of my favorite songs of the album was so fitting. It was serene and beautiful and I could only focus on how smooth and majestic the chorus sounded every time it came around. I could bask in that moment for the rest of my life.

6. Only Angel

Ugh, this really brought the energy back up again. It was so fun and seeing H run around on stage in his element was so fulfilling.

7. Woman

The ultimate empowerment you feel when he belts “WOMAN.” and the entire crowd echoes back ‘La la la la la la’ is the epitome of Girl Power. Or maybe that’s just the vibe I was picking up?

8. Meet Me in the Hallway

I LIVE for this song as well. The hazy/lazy ‘Gimme some mooooooorphine/moooore’ are some of my favorite lines to listen to. I could sway to that rhythm any time, any place.

9. Just A Little Bit of Your Heart
10. What Makes You Beautiful

VERY mixed emotions about this one. I love What Makes You Beautiful and I love H. But I don’t love the twist he’s spun on it. Honestly, there isn’t a One Direction song that I want to hear any of them sing alone. In other words, when’s the reunion happening again? (:

11. Kiwi (x2)

Can I just take a moment for this one. We got it not once, but TWICE. For those of you that do not know, this is my favorite song from the entire album, maybe even my favorite song, like, ever, and truly this is the moment I waited all night for.. to see him be a total rockstar and lay it all out on the stage to this song, and he did.

In a lot of ways, he was a total ham during this number. He knows so well how to work a crowd and exactly what to do to please them. He danced, got on his knees, and gave the infamous Kiwi stance and I LIVED for every. single. second. And hearing the note changes in the second verse was everything I dreamed of and more. Just entirely unforgettable.

1. From the Dining Table
2. Break the Chain
3. Sign of the Times

This was a cool one. The entire floor broke out little Pride flags and waved them the entire song. And when H noticed, he literally said, “wow” out loud. It was a really cool reminder of just how powerful the fandom can be. And of course it was just a bonus jonas to jam out one last time to a song that gets me through everything from exam weeks to ab workouts.

At the end of the day, it was a night to remember. The connection the crowd had with him was genuine and super energetic and I think that that made the experience just that much better.

Not only was the music incredible (that boy can SING) but so was the message he tries every day to spread. Kindness. Acceptance. Love. Hug a stranger and listen.

He thanked us multiple times throughout the night and although I know he does this for every venue, I also know that he means it, and doesn’t take the gift he’s been given for granted.

And to wrap it all up, he said ‘I couldn’t ask for a more wonderful group of friends’, which of course got me right in the heart strings and still does as I remember and type this all out.

Gist of the story, I have so many thoughts and things that I want to say, but it’s all just too unorganized to get into one blog post. But if any of this has made sense, resonated, or peaked your interest, please I really do encourage you to take a listen to his album and if given the chance to go see him live. He’s such a presence and I am proud that I’ve been able to call him my role model for the past 7-8 years.

Processed with VSCO with a7 preset

Also, any pictures/videos included in this post are most likely NOT mine. I tried not to have my phone out barely at all and just enjoy the time that I got to be there, so of course I’ll note that but just wanted to let y’all know as well more explicitly. I hope you enjoyed this story time post and let me know what y’all think! Which 1D boy is your favorite and who would you love to see perform? Or are they better together (for me, definitely together)? And..

Until next time,

September ’17 Monthly Favorites

September ’17 Monthly Favorites

Happy Thursday Everyone!

It’s officially Fall! I cannot believe it, but I happy say goodbye to boiling summer days and welcome the ‘Sweater Weather’ with open arms. Another thing I’m welcoming? A September Monthly Favorites!

It’s been a whirlwind of a month, and I’m so excited to share with you all some of my favorite discoveries as well as some of my favorite moments (there were a lot this month)!

So buckle up, and we’ll be jumping right on into it!

Jeffree Star Summer Collection Velour Liquid Lipstick Bundle

As many of you probably know, I got the chance to head up to NYC for the day and experience DragCon! It was so fun, and an experience that I will not soon forget. Getting to be around so many loving, accepting, and FUN personalities is just amazing, and I would really encourage people to try to get to the event next year if they plan on having it again!

But that’s not part of this categories favorite.. It’s the bundle that I got to purchase from the Jeffree Star Cosmetics booth while I was there!

I have been eyeing the liquid lipsticks that Jeffree released allllll summer, but I just couldn’t commit to buying the entire bundle and there was always something in the back of my mind telling me not to do it. Well I’m glad I didn’t because I got the bundle for a super discount the day of the DragCon event!

I got all of the shades for like $70 and I don’t regret a single thing. They are unlike anything I have in my collection and the two that really stand out to me are You. Better. Work. and CandyA$$. The former is a purple unlike any other (seriously, a must have) and the latter is a metallic with the most beautiful gold glitter undertone.

Needless to say? They both take my breath away and if you can still get your hands on them, I would 100% recommend!

Jeffree Star Cosmetics

Lush Fresh Face Masks

Just another thing y’all know about me.. I love skincare. And basically every month it’s almost guaranteed I’ve tried a new facemask and probably have an opinion about it.

Well, this month is no exception.

My boyfriend and I took a trip to Philly one weekend and we exchanged some of my old pots for a free fresh face mask (just one of the amazing things that Lush has to offer).

I’ve tried a few of these before so we opted for one that I hadn’t owned, and that happened to be ‘Brazened Honey’. It is packed with natural ingredients such as ginger, tumeric, lime oil, and of course.. honey, that all together help to brighten and unclog congested pores.

Well let me just tell you. After washing it off, I don’t think I’ve ever seen my skin visibly glow so much. It was incredible. My boyfriend even did it with me, and was super impressed.. so what does that tell you? It’s a freaking good product.

The smell is nice and like I said, there were instant results! Definitely an automatic fav! Unfortunately though, you can only get these masks in store and they only are good for a small window of time as they are made with such good ingredients (but if you couldn’t guess, totally worth it)!

Lush Fresh Face Mask

Two words. Simple. Tees.

These save my life every single day. I collect them in all of my favorite colors and patterns (normally neutrals and stripes) and pair them with black skinny jeans and a cute pair of either booties or sneakers and you’re set with an outfit that looks pretty put together. You can even throw a jacket over top of them and really look like you’re on top of the world.

Also, because I’m back in school and working a lot with cell cultures, mold is a real threat in the lab. So keeping my arms uncovered in the hood has been really important and having a default outfit every day keeps both me and my professor happy. Plus, really, how can you go wrong with a t-shirt? They’re comfy, cute, and super versatile. It’s a win-win!

My favorite place to get these are H&M. They always have colors, patterns, and embroidery that are on trend for really affordable prices! I would also recommend the Gap, ASOS, and even Urban Outfitters!

Last month, I made a big choice to finally buy a new purse. I’ve been toting around the same mini bag from Zara for the past few years now, and it was just time to move on to something new.

But because I don’t use purses every day, I wanted to buy a nice one that was large enough and would last me the next few years.

So by chance I checked out the Kate Spade website one day and saw that they were running a super sale and of course I immediately checked out the bags! There were quite a few that caught my eye but one in particular really was calling to me.

It is the Cameron Street Jardin Large Lane, and I love it. It is the perfect size. Not too big, and not too small, and I adore the pattern that is on it as well. It’s unique, but still classy as it is still against a black background.

And I know to some people, you might be cringing that I bought a purse that is ‘out-of-season’, but that just makes me love it even more knowing that I might be one of the few people strutting around with it anymore (I hate being all matchy-matchy with the public just because something is trendy)!

The only downside I’ve found about it so far is that it does indent a little if it is not full to the brim, but that’s so minute that I really don’t mind it and I’m excited to be carrying this piece around with me for years to come (:

<a href="https:IMG_3284IMG_3285IMG_3291IMG_3297//www.katespade.com/products/cameron-street-jardin-large-lane/PXRU7714-1.html” target=”_blank”>Kate Spade

Goo Goo Clusters!

These are just the most wonderful little treats in all of the land. I discovered them about a month ago when Seth and I were checking out a candy shop, and my life has been changed ever since.

They are a marshmallow nougat, caramel, and peanut treat all covered in milk chocolate. Yes. They do taste just as good as they sound!

They are definitely a little hard to find but if you have a local candy shop that supplies ‘out-of-the-norm’ treats or a Cracker Barrel, you may be able to get your hands on these. You really won’t regret it!

Taco Bell Queso

A few months ago I had nachos and queso from Taco Bell and absolutely loved it. I know it’s just chips and cheese basically, but there was something about it that was just really good, yanno?

Well, just the other week, I found that very same queso being sold at a grocery store! Of course I did a happy dance in the aisle and immediately picked it up, and am happy to report that it tastes just like what you would pick up from the actual fast food chain but in the convenience of your own home! What could be better, right? Pretty much nothing.

I feel like I always somehow have to incorporate life favorites into my monthly favs, and this month is definitely no exception. In fact, I probably have the most life favorites, like, ever, so I should probably jump right into them!

First up is DragCon. I won’t talk too much about this because it has it’s own blog post (and was previously mentioned above), but it was definitely one of my favorite experiences of the month!

Yes, it was chaotic, but totally unforgettable and so so much fun. I loved being able to spend the day in NYC doing something I hadn’t done before and it being a total success! So, if you’d like to hear more about the convention? Click ‘here’ for more!

I also canNOT forget the Lady Gaga concert I was fortunate enough to see!

I’ve been dying to see her for what feels like ages and my mom surprised me with tickets for my birthday! It was so much fun and a concert I will definitely not ever be forgetting.

Lady G is so inspiring and just an all ’round good person, and getting to see her perform, speak, and just be present with all of us for a night was so incredible.

Her show is so energizing and I love the vibe I got from the entire thing. It was amazing. Can I say that enough?? Probably not (:

I also loved that I got to glitter up my cheeks and strut around in baby pink all night serving all of the Pink Lady vibes I dreamed of as a kid.

Next up is of course my birthday! I really wanted to dedicate an entire post to what I did and got on my birthday but just couldn’t find the time to do it exactly how I wanted it.

For those of you that might not know, I turned 21 this month and all I wanted was a totally fun filled weekend with friends and family, and that is exactly what I got. On the day of my birthday, I traveled to NYC with Seth and we had a goblet at The Sugar Factory, and a cheese-lovers dream dinner at Chuck and Blade’s. It was so fun (and delicious) and just another thing that I got to check off my bucket list of things that I still want to do in the city!

If you ever get the chance to go to either of these places, I would 10/10 recommend splurging on a goblet (we had the Raspberry Watermelon Mojito) and the Bocce Ball (its cheese, surrounded by mac and cheese, FRIED, and then drizzled with more cheese.. you read all of that right). Just amazing.

The next day we all went to the Casino and I had another really fun and successful day (minus losing my phone for like 30 minutes). And I now know why gambling can be so addicting.. the jury is still out on whether that is a good thing or not because I think I’m totally hooked!

And on Sunday we just relaxed. I had scheduled a Soul Cycle class for Seth and I (it was Dear Evan Hansen, so cool), but I was tired from two days of non-stop here and there, plus with Monday looming, I was a little nervous about schoolwork and all that fun stuff, but overall it was such a great birthday.

I felt surrounded by people who loved and cared about me all week and weekend, and I couldn’t ask for better friends in my life!

And the final life favorite of the month would be my One Year Anniversary with Seth. It’s hard to believe that it’s been a year that we’ve spent together and every single day still feels fresh and almost as though we are still basking in the ‘Honeymoon Phase’.

We get on each other’s nerves sometimes but there is nothing bigger than the love we feel for one another and I am thankful every single day to be able to say that I found that so early on in my life.

But anyways, he planned the perfect anniversary weekend for us (most of which included a lot of relaxing, as per my request), but also a really sweet picnic and dinner night where we even made our own pasta.

I do also quickly want to mention for any one out there looking for a really cute gift idea (it is definitely NOT about gifts, but just trying to help) that I got/made a gift for every one of the five senses, because being together just makes sense, yanno (omg, so cheesy. I know.)? I thought it was cute and especially something for those of you that want to do something sentimental but might be getting stuck for ideas. For example, you can do something super simple like include a playlist you made of all of the most significant songs you’ve liked your first year together for sound, etc, etc.

But back on track, it was a weekend together that I will not soon forget and of course without a doubt would make its mark in my monthly favorites (if not a yearly favorite)!

So all-in-all, September was a pretty awesome month. I could have included so many things in this monthly favorites but I really tried to scale it down, and make it as concise as possible with my absolute must-haves of the month as well as memorable moments. I hope you enjoyed and I can’t wait for all of the content I have planned for this month!

Happy Fall Y’all!

OOTD: Stripes and Sweater Dresses

OOTD: Stripes and Sweater Dresses

Happy Friday Everyone!

I know I haven’t come at y’all with an OOTD recently, so I thought it would be fun to do a simple sweater dress that you can wear in the coming months transitioning from summer to fall weather!

Let me just start out by saying.. I. Love. This. Dress.

It’s from ASOS and it’s in a size petite (they also sell it in regular sizes too!), which is a super bonus because there is nothing I hate more than falling in love with a dress and then looking like a potato in it because it’s just too long or the fit is just a little off.

It’s also mostly black with little pops of color. I think the pink and grey keep it trendy but throwing in the neon yellow/green stripe gives it a little something extra and makes it 10x cuter (how could that be possible, right?!)!

It’s also a knit material! So it’s light enough that you can start to wear it now, but also heavy enough to keep you warm when the cooler weather starts to kick in. Plus, it’d be super cute layered with a jacket as well, and can even transition into winter as well! For me, that’s really important. I love being able to wear pieces that I love year-round, and I think this dress could easily do that for me.

Not only is it simple and cute, it’s so easy to dress down as well. I paired it with some Adidas in these pictures, but the possibilities are endless! I love that sneakers really can vibe with it, because when I’m rushing to class, I know I want to be comfortable and not slowed down by my footwear.

I also love that the fit isn’t a bodycon. I know some people love that, but I like to be able to breath (and eat an entire Chipotle burrito without my food baby showing), and the looseness around the waste is perfect while still being totally flattering!

So do you all understand how much I love this dress yet? To sum it all up, it’s simple, but cute, and really wearable! And really, what more could you ask for now a-days??

I hope you enjoyed this super quick OOTD, but..

Until next time,

September Sephora Play

September Sephora Play

Happy Thursday Everyone!

This week we’re bringing an extra post to the blog to share with you all this month’s Sephora Play (I just can’t skip them!)

This month’s theme was ‘Fall into Beauty’ and it came with a pinkish/purple bag containing all of our samples! I think the packaging is super cute and I love the black, white, and red mixed with all of the polka dots (very 101 dalmations, am I right? But also, super trendy)!

So without further ado, let’s jump right on in to all of the September goodies!

1. Benefit Cosmetics Gimme Brow Volumizing Fiber Gel

It’s the fisrt product, and I’m already super pumped. It came in the color ‘Deep’ and threw me right back to my high school days. If I’m thinking correctly, I used to have the OG packaging for this product and it used to be my holy grail.

Now keep in mind, I’m not really a girl that is into in-your-face type of makeup, so this is the perfect brow product for me. It’s enough to color and shape them without going overboard. The fibers look really natural and the finished look is a stunner for literally anyone!

2. Sephora Collection Contour Eye Pencil 12hr Wear Waterproof

This product is a staple, but also a little underwhelming for me. Like I just mentioned, I don’t wear a lot of makeup, least of all eyeliner. I personally think it just makes my eyes look really dark and small and honestly, at the end of the day it just darkens my under eye circles even more than they already are (NOT a good thing). So this is a product that will swiftly be passed on to my mom who will most likely be able to find a better use for it than I will.

I will say thought that it is a perfect travel size eye pencil, and in a way could also be perfect for people like me who don’t wear eye liner often as a little back up incase the urge ever hits to swipe some on!

3. Algenist POWER Recharging Night Pressed Serum

So this one I was also pretty excited for because ya girl loves her skincare, and I’m always down to try something new (especially since being back to college has basically ruined my skin and resulted in major breakouts.. ugh)!

From my understanding, it’s a concentrated serum that melts from more of a solid consistency into the skin to rejuvenate skin and even it out. It’s made with Alguronic Acid, a chemical found in algae that protects and regenerates the skin. So the fact that it has a compound from algae is awesome because in my experience with skincare, algae is detoxifying and normally works well with my skin type, so this was a total hit for me! Plus you just apply it at night and let it do its magic!

4. Urban Decay Vice Liquid Lipstick

This was another hit for me! The shade I got was ‘Amulet’ and it is the most perfect fall shade. It’s a brown, magenta, burgundy all mushed into one with a hint of shimmer as well, which I find unique considering most of my matte lippies are totally flat.

I am increasingly intrigued though by this product. It’s advertised as a waterproof, pigmented, liquid lipstick with a satin-matte finish. To me, that screams ‘In a few hours you’ll need to reapply’, but I’m excited to give it a try and see just how long lasting this formula really is. Plus, I’ve never tried any lip products from Urban Decay before so I’m happy to hopefully expand my horizons past Kylie Cosmetics.

5. Belif The True Cream Aqua Bomb

I think my mouth hit the floor when I pulled this out of the bag. I was So. Excited. If you all don’t know already, Belif has my all time favorite cleanser in the whole entire world, and in general, just really awesome skincare products, so this was a dream come true. I’ve always heard about this moisturizer and I am so pumped to try it for myself. Especially because I got a product a few months ago from this brand that made itself a favorite in my skincare routine!

It is an oil-free gel moisturizer that quenches skin and delivers a cooling effect. It is made with antioxidant-rich botanic extracts from an herb, Lady’s Mantle, that is known for hydrating powers and a lightweight feel.

6. IGK Hot Girls Shampoo and Conditioner

This month, there was no perfume freebie! Honestly, I love that Sephora is bringing a new freebie to the box, but I also did really like getting the perfume sample, because I’m kind of a perfume snob, and it’s opened my eyes to a few other scents.

But of course I can’t wait to give this a try, especially since the ends of my hair could always use some extra moisture, which is exactly what these samples claim to help! Some of the ingredients include shea butter, olive oil, and litchi extract, all of which are meant to lock in mostuire and protect the hair from pollutants.

So all in all, this box was just another success for me! I think it came with great products that I will mostly use and that also fit right into the fall season (of which, I am SO excited for)! The only thing that was a real miss for me this month was actually the bag. It’s cute and different, but I’m not a huge fan of silk so that’s going to be shuffled off to a friend who will be able to give it a loving home! Otherwise, like I said, these products are great and I can’t wait to see how the Sephora Play box continues to evolve! (:

Hope you all enjoyed this short unboxing and my initial reactions, but..

Until next time,
